Ethical Approval Policy for Research Involving Humans, Animals, and Data

The journal adheres to the principles of academic integrity and research ethics in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine and international standards of ethical research.

1. General Requirements

Research involving human participants, animals, biological materials, or personal and confidential data must comply with applicable ethical standards and requires mandatory approval by an appropriate authorized body, where required by law.

2. Research Involving Human Participants

  • studies involving human participants must be approved by an Ethics Committee or Institutional Review Board (IRB);
  • participants must provide informed consent prior to participation;
  • confidentiality and protection of personal data must be ensured in accordance with applicable legislation of Ukraine;
  • research should comply with internationally recognized ethical principles, including the Declaration of Helsinki.

3. Research Involving Animals

  • studies involving animals must receive approval from appropriate ethical committees;
  • researchers must adhere to principles of humane treatment of animals;
  • measures must be taken to minimize suffering and comply with international animal welfare standards.

4. Use of Biological Materials and Personal Data

  • the use of human biological materials requires appropriate ethical approval;
  • processing of personal data must comply with applicable data protection laws of Ukraine;
  • data should be anonymized or pseudonymized where necessary.

5. Author Responsibilities

Authors are required to:

  • provide information on ethical approval (name of the approving body, approval number, and date);
  • include an Ethics Statement within the manuscript;
  • submit supporting documentation upon request by the Editorial Board.

6. Editorial Oversight

The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject a manuscript or retract a publication if ethical approval is not properly obtained or if ethical standards are violated.

7. Compliance with Legal and Ethical Standards

All research must comply with applicable legislation of Ukraine and internationally accepted ethical standards governing scientific research.
